This important port complex built with 100% of private investment has two terminals; one dedicated to specialized transportation of breakbulk and roro cargo and other specialized in handling bulk liquids. The two terminals have the latest technology for handling their cargo.
Puerto Bahía has a specific area for breakbulk cargo, specialized in handling extra heavy cargo, oversized and RoRo (Roll On – Roll Off) cargo, in addition of having a logistics system of latest technology.
In its first phase, the terminal includes a berth of 300 meters and 27 hectares of storage yard. Once the port is completed, this berth will increase its capacity by another 300 meters, thus completing 600 meters and 18 meters of natural draft along the berth line.
The breakbulk cargo terminal will supply a great need in Cartagena port transport, handling cargo that includes shipping with unique specifications and generally do not adhere to the container transport processes. Undoubtedly, Puerto Bahia will become the first departure from Cartagena to this type of cargo, with personalized service that fits the needs of each customer and shipments.
Puerto bahía is the only terminal in the Caribbean specialized in Roro cargo, providing its customers with large storage areas (10.000 parking slots), value added services and facilities in cargo handling, such as designated areas in the terminal for distribution centers.
